Passion Sunday

Fr. Michael writes:-This week all over the world, Christians will be celebrating the great mystery of Christ’s love for us. “Greater love no man has than he who lays down his life for his friends.” This is the week Christ lived out the truth of these words. He took on himself our sins and the sins of the world. The week ahead is the most important week of the Church’s year when once again we celebrate the Passion, Crucifixion and Resurrection of Our Lord. I invite everyone in the parish to be with us over these days. I give below the list of services again:-

THE EASTER VIGIL AT 8.00 pm
Tonight we celebrate the most important service of the Church’s year. We Passover with the Lord from death to life, from darkness to light. We recall the mighty deeds of God’s saving love for us. Tonight too we joyfully welcome and receive eight new members into our community: We celebrate our first Mass of Easter. We also welcome Bishop Alan Hopes who will be our main celebrant this evening.
After the Vigil our celebrations continue in the Coffee Lounge when we will welcome the new Catholics and a glass of wine is available.

Easter Sunday 16th April
Masses at: 8.30 am, 10.00 am and 11.30 am. Please note there is no evening Mass today.

Please remember today your Easter Offering. This is your personal gift to the priests of the Parish. If you are going away over Easter perhaps you could drop it in during the week.
Thank you.

God our loving Father,
who made us your children
in baptism, pour out on us afresh the gifts of your
Holy Spirit.

Open our ears to
hear your Word,
open our hearts to
you in prayer,
that we may receive
with ever deeper faith the
Bread of Life.

Strengthened through
these gifts
make us signs of
your presence
to the world of today.

Father, hear our
humble prayer
through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

25th Anniversary

On 23rd May I shall be celebrating my 25th anniversary as a priest. There will be a Mass of Thanksgiving here in the Church on Friday 19th May 2006 at 7.30 pm. This will be followed by a Reception in the Hall and Coffee Lounge. For this occasion of both thanksgiving and joy, I would very much like if as many parishioners as possible would come along and join me in this celebration of priesthood.
