Fr. Agustin writes: We are all in need of help; if you think you are not, just remember the number of times you have found yourself moaning and groaning about your life! Indeed, how many times we find ourselves completely lost in our problems, often carrying on our own the heavy burden of our sins, of our failures and mistakes… and those of others!
If you are in need of help then, the second reading of today’s liturgy is for you and for me. It invites us to approach “the throne of grace” with full confidence that “we shall have mercy from Christ” and find in him the grace we need to live a meaningful life. It was just for this reason that he offered himself on the Cross; that he took our faults on himself, to justify us; to set us free.
Retiring Collection
This weekend there will be a retiring collection for the Association for the Propagation of the Faith (Overseas Missions). This Sunday is World Mission Day.

Parish Christmas Bazaar
Last year the Parish Christmas Bazaar raised a tremendous £ 5500.00 and the pressure is on to do the same again. We raised £ 2200.00 on the Main Draw alone and we are currently looking for top prizes for our Grand Prize Draw. Can you help? Would you or your Company be prepared to offer a top prize? If so please contact me as soon as possible.
R.C.I.A.
The R.C.I.A. will begin on Thursday 26th October at 8.00 pm in the presbytery. If you know of someone who might be interested in exploring more about the Catholic Faith with a view to becoming a Catholic, then please ask them to contact me. You might put the question to a
husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, neighbour. God calls each of us to be evangelizers and to introduce others to Christ.
Christmas Bazaar – Saturday 2nd December From 28th October there will be a sheet in the church foyer for any parishioner wishing to have an estate agent board outside their home to advertise for the parish bazaar. Raffle tickets will go on sale on 28 October.
We are also looking for donations for our Bazaar, if you have any unwanted gifts, books, toys, CDs, DVDs, fancy goods, bric-a-brac and jewellery. All items should be in a saleable condition (not broken or dirty and items that you would be happy to buy yourself). There will be bins in the foyer from 28 October onwards.
We will be looking for volunteers to help sort every Friday commencing 3rd November. Thank you.
