Fr. Michael writes: In the busyness of our lives most of us only have snatches of inner peace. The rest of the time there can be stress, anxiety and restlessness. How much we need the healing presence of Christ’s Spirit of love and peace promised to us in today’s Gospel. Christ had this inner peace. Hence he was able to offer it to his disciples. What was the basis of his peace? It lay in the loving relationship he had with his Father. In turn, Jesus offers us his peace:- “Peace I leave with you.” The peace he offers is not the peace of escape from reality. It is
the peace of something so deep within us that no sorrow or tribulation can rob us of it. It is independent of outer circumstances. We should pray for the gift of that peace and that Christ will help us to calm our fears and heal our stresses. Then we will be able to look at the world afresh with a still heart and an open soul.
Congratulations
Many congratulations and prayers to the 56 young people of our parish who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Hopes yesterday Saturday. A big thank you to all those involved – Fr. Agustin; our team of catechists; the folk group; altar servers and flower ladies and U.C.M. It was a most enjoyable occasion.

R.C.I.A.
We have now finished the R.C.I.A. for this year and hopefully will begin again in September. At present I have nobody who is showing an interest but maybe you know of a person who might be interested in becoming a Catholic. Perhaps your husband; wife; girlfriend; boyfriend or neighbour would like to know more about the Catholic faith with a view to joining the Church. If so, please let me know and I will give you more details.

This weekend we say goodbye to our seminarian John Millar who comes to us each Sunday from Allen Hall Seminary. I hope that he has enjoyed his time with us in Ruislip and on your behalf promise that we will keep in touch with him particularly by our prayers.
