R.C.I.A.
We have now finished the R.C.I.A. for this year and hopefully will begin again in September. At present I have nobody who is showing an interest but maybe you know of a person who might be interested in becoming a Catholic. Perhaps your husband; wife; girlfriend; boyfriend or neighbour would like to know more about the Catholic faith with a view to joining the Church. If so, please let me know and I will give you more details.

Fr. Michael writes: John the Baptist challenges us as Christians to the fundamental attitude of Christianity – total dependence of the Father, in Christ. Except for the Mother of God, no one had a higher function in the unfolding of salvation. Yet the least in the kingdom, Jesus said, is greater than he, for the pure gift that the Father gives. The attractiveness as well as the austerity of John, his fierce courage in denouncing sin and calls to repentance, all stem from his fundamental and total placing of his life within the will of God. That is why we celebrate his feast today.
Many thanks
Many thanks to all who helped for the Papal Nuncio’s visit last Sunday – the servers; choir; U.C.M.; Sacred Heart School; Readers; Eucharistic Ministers and flower ladies. Unfortunately the power on the microphone system went down because it was being overloaded. For those who did not hear the homily, a copy is available on the table in the porch and on our website. I do encourage you to read it.

Parish Council Meeting
At our Parish Council Meeting two issues were raised.
For September we need 12 new Eucharistic Ministers. If you can help with this ministry please sign the clip board on the table in the porch.
Now that we have so many altar servers thanks to the hard work and commitment of Clement Solis, it can be distracting if the young servers are in the benches chatting. Would all altar servers please observe best behaviour and reverence at all times as you have been shown in your training.
Eucharistic Ministers and Readers Rotas
The new rotas are ready for collection from the sacristy.
