15th Sunday of the Year

Fr. Michael writes: The parable Christ tells of the Good Samaritan in today’s Gospel is more relevant today than ever before.  How many people today lie wounded by the roadside of life?  Their wounds are not always visible.  Many of today’s deepest wounds are invisible.  They are not physical and do not therefore show up on the outside.  People can be wounded in spirit.  Perhaps there are such people around me today.  There are so many people forgotten, all waiting, may be not having the courage to call out, waiting for the coming of a
Good Samaritan.  The question for us is:-  “Is my heart ready and big enough to embrace even some of these?”

Parish Picnic

Today Sunday from 2 pm 5 pm we have our second Parish Picnic at the College Fields, Kings College Road.  Eastcote Hockey Club have again given us their Hall, Bar and toilet facilities.  There will be races and games for children and parents; five-a-side competitions; music etc.  Just bring your own picnic and pray for a good day.  Should it rain you can still come along as we can move into the Hall of the Hockey Club.

Many thanks

Many thanks to all those who have signed up to be Eucharistic Ministers.  We are most grateful to you.  Eileen Bonnar will arrange training as soon as possible.

R.C.I.A.

Have you thought of becoming a Catholic?  Perhaps your husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend or neighbour would like to know more about the Catholic faith with a view to joining the Church.  If so please let Fr. Michael know and he will give you more details about the RCIA, which will begin in September.  You might also like to take a leaflet from the porch table “Thinking of becoming a Catholic” and passing it to a person you know.

Can you rent a room from September to December 2007?

Accommodation required by a practicing Catholic, currently working as the Head of Mathematics at St. Helen’s school, Northwood.  I am a non-smoking, married man with four young children, currently commuting weekly between Northwood and Gloucestershire.  All I need is a bed and shower, from Sunday late evening until Friday morning during school term.  If you can help please contact Dominic Soares dominic.soares@sthn.co.uk.
