Tony met people living in the vast shanty towns of Sao Paulo & visited indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest. He will tell the inspiring stories of how, with the support of CAFOD’s partners, the people he met are finding ways out of poverty, challenging discrimination and seeking justice. All are welcome.
Thank you

Fr. Michael writes: In many ways the Gospel today is an incredible story. Ten lepers are cured from their leprosy which was the ultimate uncleanness and which cut off its victim from the community. Would you not think that the very first thing they would have done would be to rush back and thank Jesus? Yet only one of the ten did so. We have all been touched by Jesus. We all encounter him especially in the Eucharist. What has changed in our lives as a result of our encounter with Jesus? Are we perhaps like the nine – changed only superficially or like the one Samaritan who showed himself as a result of that one encounter to be changed utterly? If we try to be
like the Samaritan, our prayer will always be one of thanksgiving to Christ.
Readers Training Courses
I have organised two evenings for Readers on Tuesday 6th November 7.30 pm – 9.00 pm and Tuesday 13th November 7.30 pm – 9.00 pm. Both evenings will take place in the Church. I have invited Miss Letitia Nicoll LGSM, Dip CE, FESB, a teacher and adjudicator in vocal communication and public speaking, to take these evenings. Many of our readers cannot be heard or are not using the microphone correctly. The Liturgy of the Word is God’s Word speaking to us and it is important that it is read properly and heard by all. All readers should come to both evenings. New Readers are welcome and there is a clipboard on the table in the porch if you would like to read at Mass. New Readers and all those attending this course will then be commissioned or re-commissioned on Bible Sunday which is on 9th December.
November Dead Envelopes
November Dead envelopes are available at the back of the Church. You may place into them your list of Dead and Offerings for Masses. During the month of November when the Church prays especially for Holy Souls we will offer Masses for the Holy Souls and place those lists by the altar. Envelopes should be returned to the presbytery by the end of October.
