Fr. Michael writes: Zacchaeus is delighted to welcome Jesus to his house. The crowd on the other hand, are enraged. But Jesus is more interested in the outcast than the enraged. The crowd is transfixed by the sins Zacchaeus has committed; Jesus sees beyond the sins to the person that Zacchaeus can become. It is the same for us. The story continues to be told. Jesus constantly looks at what we could become and always overlooks our wrongdoing in the hope that we will repent.
Holy Souls
During the month of November the Church encourages us to pray for Holy Souls. The box with your list of dead is now placed beside the altar and we will remember those deceased in our Masses here in Ruislip. Our Bereavement Mass for all those buried or cremated from our parish will take place next Saturday 10th November at 6.00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
Sick and Retired Priests need your help today
There are already 90 retired priests in the diocese and 70 more are due to retire over the next ten years. These priests have given their lives to the church and it is important that we pray for them as they grow older. But it is also important that we ensure that they receive the care that they require when they require it and there will be a special collection for the Sick & Retired Priests’ Fund this weekend. Please take a donation envelope and give as much as you can this weekend.
Christmas Bazaar - Saturday 1st December 10.30 am - 2.30 pm
This weekend there will be a clipboard in the church foyer for any parishioner wishing to have an estate agents board outside their home to advertise for the parish bazaar (last year we had over 50 boards go up). Raffle tickets will be on sale before and after mass this weekend. We are currently looking for donations for our bazaar, if you have any unwanted gifts, books, toys, CDs, DVD's, fancy goods, bric-a-brac, jewellery and groceries (please ensure not date expired). All items should in a saleable condition (not broken or dirty and items that you would be happy to buy yourself). There will be bins in the foyer for you to put items. We are looking for volunteers to help sort every Friday from 1.30 pm - if you can help please just turn up. Many thanks.
Walsingham Prayer Group Raffle 2007

Readers Training Courses
Two evenings have been organized for Readers on Tues. 6th November and Tues. 13th November 7.30 pm – 9.00 pm. Both evenings will take place in the Church. I have invited Miss Letitia Nicoll LGSM, Dip CE, FESB, a teacher and adjudicator in vocal communication and public speaking, to take these evenings. Many of our readers cannot be heard or are not using the microphone correctly. The Liturgy of the Word is God’s Word speaking to us and it is important that it is read properly and heard by all. All readers should come to both evenings. New Readers and all those attending this course will then be commissioned or re-commissioned on Bible Sunday which is on 9th December.
