Fr. Agustin writes: Today, we celebrate the second Sunday of Advent and both the Word of God and the Liturgy continue to remind us of a fundamental article of our faith: That Jesus Christ is coming back, as the Lord of all creation. The second coming of our Lord is not myth or a fairy tale but an essential part of that belief which we express in the Creed Sunday after Sunday: He will come again to judge the living and the dead. In this context of waiting for the Lord, today, the voice of John the Baptist resonates in our
lives: Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand. John’s message far from provoking anxiety or terror should fill us with joy. The joy of listening to a voice that cries in the wilderness of our lives. In the midst of the desert of our busy and sometimes difficult lives we listen to John’s invitation: prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight. May the Lord grant us in this time a conversion of heart; a real metanoia, a change of direction in our lives so that in this season of Advent we may start together the Journey back to the Father.

The Trustees invite you to visit our display of work done and good causes we have supported during the past 25 years. The Jubilee Trust is our parish charity set up in 1982 to commemorate the Jubilee of the Parish of the Most Sacred Heart here in Ruislip and we continue to raise funds that will alleviate poverty and spread Christianity both in England and throughout the world. All the money raised by the Jubilee Trust is used to support good causes and is not used by the Parish in any way. This weekend we are also holding the Dec. 200 Club draw at Sunday Morning Coffee after 10 am Mass.

Urgent Appeal for Cub Leaders!
The parish cub pack is in urgent need of new leaders, or it will have to be closed at the end of the year.
This is a rewarding and fun role and you would have the support of those already involved in one of the most active youth groups in the diocese. We have excellent equipment and meeting facilities, but will falter for lack of leaders.
We need men or women who can commit to one session per week, during term time. It may well be that two or three people can be brought together to share the running of a unit, so even if you are uncertain, please make your interest known.
All necessary training and uniform is given for free.
We would like people to come forward immediately so we can prepare for next term, and to allow time for CRB checks and registration.
For further information please contact one of the current leaders or:- Steve Talbot 020 8845 3061. Alternatively please leave your contact details at the presbytery.
