Ninth Sunday of the Year
Fr. Michael writes: : In today’s Gospel St. Matthew concludes the sermon on the mount with the image of the sensible man who built his house on rock and a foolish man who built his house on sand. No matter one’s title or rank, Jesus warns those who hear “these words of mine” and fail on them, that they are fooling themselves and will incur destruction. None of us wants to build what we believe to be a sure religious structure only to discover we have built a house which comes tumbling down because it lacks a real foundation. That foundation consists of listening to the Word of God, of obedience to that word, and integrating the Word of God into our daily lives.
Thank You
This Sunday our Seminarian Mark Walker will finish his first year pastoral training with us. We would like to thank Mark for being with us each Sunday; for playing in the folk group; singing in the choir and for helping before and after Masses and attending Sunday groups and First Communion classes. I hope that it has been a good experience for Mark and as we promise to remember him in his training for the priesthood, we hope he will remember us in Ruislip with affection and prayer.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Brian Clough and Donna Foy who were united yesterday here in our Church through the Sacrament of Marriage

Are you thinking about Becoming a Catholic?
Are you thinking about becoming a Catholic? The weekly sessions of the R.C.I.A. begin in October and carry on until post Easter. This group consists of others exploring the idea of becoming a Roman Catholic; of a theme each week exploring the understanding of faith in the Roman Catholic Church and of a priest and one or two parishioners to help you. No one will put pressure on you and you are free to leave at any stage if you feel it is not for you. If you would like to know more, then pick up a leaflet from the table in the porch or speak to Fr. Michael.
