Church
of the Most
....Sacred Heart
73 Pembroke Road, Ruislip, HA4 8NN
......Tel: 01895 632739
Parish Priest: Fr. Michael Johnston
Parish Administrator: Nicola Burke
Fr. Michael writes: The world is full of doubting Thomas’s as in today’s Gospel. In fact a little of Thomas lurks in us all because we are dealing in faith. Many today simply do not believe that Christ is risen and that He can be encountered. And they will not be converted and believe unless they can touch His wounds and see His face. How can this happen? It can happen only if Christ is seen to be alive in us, his followers. He must be seen to dwell in us and among us, for it is only in us, and through us, that others can see and touch Him, and be touched by Him and so be healed of their unbelief. Without the Church, the risen Christ would remain invisible, untouchable and faceless. He lives in the Church. There He can be encountered, that is, that He can be touched and He touches us.
Welcome
Welcome again to Fr. Thyagu who has been looking after the parish for the past week. We are most grateful to him.

Flowers in May
May is by tradition the month in the Church dedicated to Mary. In our Church we have a lovely side chapel and statue of Mary. I would like to invite those with gardens and flowers to bring flowers in for our side chapel to Mary during the month of May. Our floral ladies group will keep an eye to make sure they are kept fresh. Some people may prefer to buy some flowers rather than take them from their gardens, but either way it would be lovely if during May our side chapel was decorated with flowers.
Gift Aid
Many thanks again to all those who have Gift Aided their offering to the Church thereby increasing our annual income, at no cost to themselves, by some £20,000 p.a. An important reminder though; we can ONLY claim the tax rebate if we have a record of payment to the Parish by means of an ENVELOPE, BANKERS ORDER or CHEQUE. Anyone who has Gift Aided their offertory but no longer pays any form of income tax should inform Michael Clark via the Priest's House.
UCM Thanks
The UCM members would like to thank all those who donated items for The Passage. We have received a letter from the Chief Executive of The Passage who writes: “Thank you very much for the huge donation of towels, toiletries and bed linen. You could not have chosen more appropriate items – we are truly grateful to you and all your parishioners for your generosity. Anyone of us is only a couple of steps away from homelessness… It is so important that The Passage is always there. May God bless you all for your generosity and kindness to others who are less fortunate”
