All Saints

Fr. Duncan writes:  This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of All Saints. We think of all those who have died and are now enjoying the reward of their labours in the kingdom of heaven. Monday this week, 2nd November, is the Commemoration of All Souls, when we remember all those who have died and ‘gone before us marked with the sign of faith’. There will be two Masses in our Church on Monday at 10.00am and 8.00pm.
Throughout the month of November we remember especially, those who have died. Each day throughout the month we will pray for all those whose names are listed on our November Roll of the Dead. These names will be placed in the sanctuary. If you would like the name of your deceased relatives and friends included, please take an envelope from the table at the back of the Church and return it with your list enclosed to Fr. Duncan or to the presbytery. Your offering may be enclosed in the envelope.

Sick & Retired Priests
There is to be a collection for the Sick and Retired Priests’ Fund this weekend, all the money raised will be used to ensure that sick and elderly priests in our diocese receive the care and support that they need. Could I ask you to give as much as you can as the Fund depends on your donations and is now having real difficulty raising enough money to meet all the demands on its services.

Welcome
This weekend we welcome Fr. Tony who will be celebrating 8.30am and 10.00am Masses.

Deepest Sympathy
Our sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of those deceased whose Funeral Masses take place in our Church this week as follows:

John Head whose Funeral Mass takes place on Friday 6th November at 11.00am with Reception of his body being on Thursday 5th November at 5.00pm.

Christmas Fayre - Saturday 5 December 10.30-2.30pm
Tickets go on sale before and after Masses this weekend for the Christmas Fayre Prize draw and the Cryptic Crossword. Are you getting ready for a "Christmas sort out"? From next weekend there will be collection bins in the foyer for donations to the Parish Christmas Fayre. If you have any unwanted gifts or fancy goods, books, toys, DVDs, "Buy 1 get 1 Free offers", toiletries or jewellery please drop them into the bins. Please note: NO Bric-a-Brac, video tapes or used cuddly toys as we cannot dispose of them. All items should be in a very good and saleable condition that you would be happy to buy yourself (no broken items or goods that you are throwing away). We are also keen to receive groceries and bottles (for our bottle tombola stall and for prizes - please hand them in via the presbytery). We will be looking for home-made cakes and perishable goods nearer the time. If you are able to help at the bazaar or with setting up there is a clipboard in the foyer. Thank-you.
