Mothers Prayer Meetings
We are an informal group of mothers who meet monthly, usually the second Sunday of the month, to offer prayers for our children. Our next meeting will be next Sunday 14th February from 4.00-5.00pm followed by tea and coffee. All are welcome. For further details please see leaflet in the porch.
Altar Server Training for New Recruits
At the initial meeting on 20th January there were 27 volunteers and a few more have joined in the first weeks of training but the course is now oversubscribed so please note that no more trainees can now be accepted onto this year’s course.
Valentines SupperUnfortunately the Valentines Supper scheduled for Sat 13th Feb run by the Jubilee Trust will not be going ahead this year. We will be holding a Summer Ball with buffet on Saturday 12th June 2010.
Beavers & Cubs
If you wish to join in the church parade this week, 7th February, turn up in full uniform at 9.45am in the hut. Parents you must sign your child in, be in attendance at the 10.00am mass and when collecting your child sign them out.
Thanksgiving Mass for the Sacrament of Matrimony
There will be a Mass of Thanksgiving for the Sacrament of Matrimony at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday 22nd May. The Archbishop will be inviting to this Mass all couples in the Diocese who are celebrating their 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th and 60th+ wedding anniversary of Catholic marriage in 2010. If you would like an invitation, please give Fr. Duncan the following information: husband and wife’s names, wedding date, full postal address and e-mail if you have one. Admission to the Mass is by invitation only.

Fr. Duncan writes:Dear Parishioners, I am happy to tell you Archbishop Vincent has asked Fr Stephen Hewitt to come to our parish to assist me here in Ruislip. I know that you will make him welcome. LOURDES PILGRIMAGE - Would you like to come on pilgrimage to Lourdes with us this year?
The brochure for this year’s pilgrimage arrived the other day and I have put a copy on the notice board in the porch, with the details of the hotels and prices. We shall be joining with the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in July (25th to 31st). We will have a meeting for those interested in joining the pilgrimage on Tuesday 16th Feb at 7.30pm in the Coffee Lounge. In the meantime, please think about the pilgrimage, talk about the pilgrimage and pray about the pilgrimage. Sacred Heart Cub Pack
The two leaders are looking for volunteers to help at their meetings on Thursday evenings from 7.00– 8.30pm in the Scout Hut. They currently have a huge waiting list of children interested in joining but are unable to take any more Cubs as they require more adult helpers before being able to do so. The International World Day of Prayer
This will be hosted by Most Sacred Heart Church this year and will take place on Fri 5th March 2010 starting at 2.00pm. It has been prepared by the Christian women of Cameroon and Sister Janet Fearns from Mill Hill Missionaries who has spent many years working in Africa will be the guest speaker. Everyone is most welcome. The service should last about an hour, after which refreshments will be provided in Hesdin Hall. Help to provide and serve refreshments would be greatly appreciated. Lists can be found at the back of the church for those who can volunteer their services.
Children's Liturgy of the Word Term Dates – 10.00am Mass
The remaining dates for this term are: 21st & 28th February and 14th & 28th March. Please note these sessions are designed for children of primary school age and are not suitable for toddlers or children younger than 'Reception' class (age 4 or 5 years). The sessions are a time for learning and discussing the weekly gospel and take the format of 'carpet-time' as in a classroom environment.
Nursery Admissions - Sacred Heart School
If your child was born between 1st September 2006 and 31st August 2007 and you would like to apply for a Nursery place at Sacred Heart School for next September, application forms are now available. If you have not already received a copy please drop into the school office between 8.00am-4.00pm. Applications should be returned to school by Friday 26th February 2010.

CTR are holding a series of Lent Talks on the theme of "Christian Ethics in the Workplace" at Ruislip Baptist Church, Manor Way on Tuesdays at 8.00pm. All are welcome. Foodbank We have received a letter fromHillingdon Foodbank expressing their thanks for our donation of 129kg of food over the Christmas period – “We are grateful to everyone who gave or participated in some way. By doing this, you have reached out to someone in need, in Hillingdon, who would otherwise go without food during the festive season." We are hoping to make a further collection for Hillingdon Foodbank during Lent and are looking for volunteers able to make a couple of trips to transport the donated food to Uxbridge during Lent. Please contact Nicola in the parish office if you are available to help between Monday to Friday during the working day.
