Parish Priest: Fr. Duncan M Adamson
Parish Administrator: Nicola Burke
Fr. Duncan writes: Dear Parishioners, This Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Lent, ’Laetare Sunday’, so named from the opening words of the Entrance Antiphon of today’s Mass, ‘Rejoice Jerusalem’ Today, we celebrate in a special way the joy of knowing that we have been reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, reminding ourselves that our faith is the source of true happiness.
It is also Mothering Sunday. Today we focus our prayer on our mothers. We thank God for all the blessings we have received from our mothers, for the love and example they have shown us. Let us pray, especially today, for all mothers as they strive to bring up their children in today’s world, with so many pressures and difficulties. We remember, in a special way, all mothers who have died and celebrate this day in the company of Mary, Mother of God, Mother of Jesus Christ, Mother of the Church.
Preparation for Lent
We are now in the Fourth Week of Lent. If, so far you feel you have not begun or have failed miserably, do not worry, just begin again. Here again are some suggestions:-
Weekday Mass – 10.00am daily. Why not try to attend Mass each day during Lent?
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament– Takes place in the Church each day from 10.30am-12.00 noon. Why not take the time to pop into Church, even for a few minutes to keep company with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament?
Rosary– Every morning at 9.30am in the Church the rosary is recited. The rosary is a lovely way to pray and to start the day.
Stations of the Cross– Take place every Friday of Lent at 7.30pm in the Church followed by Mass at 8.00pm.
Confessions – Takes place every Saturday from 10.30am-11.30am and 5.15pm-5.30pm. Reconciliation Service with Bishop Alan Hopes and 6 priests on Tuesday 23rd March at 7.30pm.
Baptism Congratulations
To Elizabeth Burnard who was baptised into our Church yesterday, Saturday.

Altar Servers Cassocks and Cottas - Will all those who requested new cassocks and cottas and have not yet done so, please collect their new vestments TODAY and clean and return the outgrown ones as they are needed for new servers who are keen to start serving but have no vestments. Easter - There is a list in the sacristy for Easter, we need to know any days when you WILL NOT be able to serve; it will be assumed that all servers will attend during Holy Week and Easter at any time they are needed unless they have previously put their names on this list.
Planned Giving Boxes
This weekend the new boxes of planned giving are available again in the porch. They should be used from 10/11th April. Please take a few minutes to collect your box.
