The Hillingdon Foodbank
We are again collecting for the Hillingdon Foodbank which helps individuals and families in crisis by providing emergency food supplies. Please support by donating non-perishable food (cereal, tinned food, long life milk, dried rice or pasta.). PLEASE ENSURE ALL DONATIONS ARE WITHIN SELL-BY DATES and leave them at the collection point in the foyer and we will transport them to the Hillingdon Foodbank. The collection will continue through March until Easter. Thank you for your help in supporting local people in crisis this Lent.

Lenten Alms
Lenten Alms is money we wish to donate to help those less well off than ourselves.  This year the monies raised to go to the St John Southworth Fund and the Thai Children's Trust. The Lenten Alms box is by the second Station of the Cross. Please give generously.

Fifth Sunday of Lent

Fr. Duncan writes:Dear Parishioners, This weekend we have a Pastoral Letter from our Archbishop, Vincent Nichols.
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday. Palms will be blessed and distributed at the beginning of each Mass. When you come into the church, please collect your palm with your Mass Book and newsletter. At the 10.00am and 11.30am Masses we will assemble outside the church for the blessing of palms and procession into the church.
As you leave Mass today, please take a copy of the Holy Week timetable with you. This gives the details of all the services in our church during Holy Week and Easter. Please keep it handy for reference.
On Tuesday evening this week we have our Lenten Penitential Service. We will be joined by Bishop Alan Hopes and six priests. This will give the opportunity for people to make their Confession in preparation for Easter.

Preparation for Lent
We are now in the Fifth Week of Lent. If, so far you feel you have not begun or have failed miserably, do not worry, just begin again. Here again are some suggestions:-

  1. Weekday Mass10.00am daily. Why not try to attend Mass each day during Lent?
  2. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament – Takes place in the Church each day from 10.30am-12.00 noon. Why not take the time to pop into Church, even for a few minutes to keep company with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament?
  3. Rosary – Every morning at 9.30am in the Church the rosary is recited. The rosary is a lovely way to pray and to start the day.
  4. Stations of the Cross – Take place every Friday of Lent at 7.30pm in the Church followed by Mass at 8.00pm.
  5. Confessions – Takes place every Saturday from 10.30am-11.30am and 5.15pm-5.30pm. Reconciliation Service with Bishop Alan Hopes and 6 priests this Tuesday 23rd March at 7.30pm.

First Communion Preparation Mass
Today, Sunday 21st March at 10.00am Mass we welcome our special children who are celebrating their First Holy Communion this year.

Help Required
We are short of readers for the weekday morning Masses at 10.00am, Monday to Saturday. If anyone would like to help with this important ministry could you please leave your details with Nicola in the Parish Office.

Eucharistic Ministers
All Eucharistic Ministers should attend the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday 1st April when you will be re-commissioned for another year.

Altar Servers
TODAY is the final day for filling in the list in the sacristy to advise any days when you WILL NOT be able to serve.  The lists for Holy Week and Easter will be prepared tomorrow and it will be assumed that all servers will attend during Holy Week and Easter at any time they are needed unless they have previously put their names on this list.

Sunday Group Children
Please note today, Sunday 21st March is the last lesson of term. The new term starts on Sunday 25th April.
