Parish Priest: Fr. Duncan M Adamson
Parish Administrator: Nicola Burke
Fr. Duncan writes: Dear Parishioners, Last Sunday, we celebrated the joy of the risen Christ with a great number of people at all our Masses over Easter.
I am very grateful to all those who worked so hard to prepare our church for Easter and to all those who were involved in the various services for Holy Week, the Easter Triduum and Easter. They truly were prayerful and fruitful celebrations for all in our parish.
Thank you very much for your generosity in the Easter Collection last weekend and also for the cards and gifts I received. May the blessings of the Risen Christ come down upon you all.
This Sunday, the Octave of Easter, is also called Divine Mercy Sunday when we are called to focus on the mercy and love God has for each one of us. The message of Divine Mercy is a reminder of what the Church has always taught: that God is merciful and forgiving and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness. Today we come to asking God’s forgiveness for our sins and his grace to help us avoid temptations in the future. Divine Mercy Sunday points us to the merciful love of God that lies behind the entire Paschal Mystery – the mystery of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ – made present for us in the Eucharist. ALLELUIA ALLELUIA ALLELUIA
May the blessings of the Risen Christ be with you all this Easter. Fr Duncan.
